During the 2024/25 reporting period, the Commission embarked on a Community Support Initiative under “Adopt a School” Initiative. The initiative is aligned to the National Vision 2036 – Pillar 2 on Human and Social Development, which is a key priority area for the Government in giving a more robust educational foundation to the younger generation. The Commission’s focus was impacting the lives of less privileged individuals by giving back to the community through food security and environmental conservation. Manyana Primary School benefitted from this initiative which targeted children with special needs within the school.

The flagship initiative was officially launched on 21st March 2025, at Manyana Primary School under the theme “Investing in Education, Investing in Tomorrow”. This theme aligned with the Commission’s ambition to contribute to inclusivity in education and foster a culture of sustainability and food security within the school. During the event, the Commission donated chicken layers, fruit trees and stationery to the school. The project aims to:
- Promote food security by establishing a sustainable poultry (layers) farming project;
- Generate revenue to support classroom needs through sales of eggs and fruits;
- Impart agricultural and environmental skills to learners;
- Support inclusive learning environments for special needs learners; and
- Foster sustainability through a culture of self-reliance and community ownership.
